The Schools HR Advisory Service is a specialist team within the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, providing expert HR Support to schools. We are committed to helping Schools manage and develop their workforce effectively, ensuring compliance with Employment Law and best practice.

The Service is led by Don Lan-George, who, in addition to overseeing the Schools HR Advisory Service, also manages the Corporate Support Staff Trade Union relationships. However, the rest of the Schools HR Advisory Service are not involved in Corporate Trade Union matters.

Don and his colleague Dena Francis hold a statutory function on behalf of the Local Authority as the legal Employer for Community and Voluntary Controlled Schools, ensuring that employment decisions and processes are compliant with National and Local Frameworks.
